Staff

We asked some of our staff why understanding and caring about academic integrity is important to studies and your future.

What is academic misconduct?

“It’s when you don’t do the right thing that you’re supposed to do when you are dealing with academics, like cheating and giving false information.”

What is academic integrity?

“Academic Integrity means being honest with your academic work, by saying that in my personal experience, like not cheating from anywhere, always respecting your teacher and always doing the assignment of any project of any group work on time before the due date.”

What qualities of academic integrity will benefit your professional career?

“The person was good in attending his classes, he was regular in his classes, he uses critical thinking and logical thinking in doing his assessments and he was respectful to others and he didn’t violate any of the rules of the academic institution.”

What does fairness in academic work look like?

“We have to remove plagiarism and not include plagiarism in our assignment and we have to make sure we do our own assignments.”

How can you show respect in your academic environment?

“Should be always on time everywhere, to the lecturer to my friends, if I’m in a group, team, work of something like that on a group assessment I should be submitting and I should be giving my all my time to my team members and team leader, so I shouldn’t be upsetting them in any way.”

Why is honesty important in your studies?

“So honesty is important in studies because it will give equal opportunities for all the people, by being honest in your work you’ll be able to develop skills and by using those skills you will be able to integrate into a society in a more effective way.”
