Dr Fariha A Hira brings more than a decade of experience across academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. She has taught and served as Head of Program at an Australian higher education institution. Her industry background is in the logistics and manufacturing sectors, alongside her own entrepreneurial ventures.
She is an academic leader and researcher specialising in Organisational Behaviour, Strategic Management, Innovation, and Consumer and User Behaviour. She provides academic governance and leadership across higher education programs and designs curricula end to end across Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Levels 5 to 9, from diplomas to postgraduate degrees. She has built degree programs from scratch and led the digital transformation of curricula.
She holds a PhD in Management and an MBA in Strategic and Healthcare Management. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a qualified trainer and assessor.
Her research asks what drives people and organisations to adopt innovation and adapt to change, and what that means for strategy. She created the Motivational and Normative Technology Adoption (MNTA) Model, a framework for examining user behaviour, adoption dynamics, and institutional responses to emerging technologies and strategies. As Principal Investigator, she has led funded research in blockchain integration, healthcare management, and digital transformation, including Blockchain Implementation for Medical Data Management. Her research output spans peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and international conference papers. She also serves as a symposium organiser, discussant, and peer reviewer for international journals.
She teaches with real business problems. Her classrooms are inclusive and student-centred. They suit diverse learning styles, encourage critical inquiry, and ask students to own their learning. She uses flipped classroom models, with interactive pre-class preparation followed by scenario-based workshops built on case studies, practical management tools, and artificial intelligence. Her aim is graduates who adapt and lead in global industry.
