Dr Harminder Singh brings more than 18 years of academic, research and higher education leadership experience to his role as Governance and Quality Manager (GQM). He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and began his academic career as a Lecturer in 2007, progressing to Professor, a position he held until January 2026. His academic career spans teaching, curriculum design, development and review, academic program enhancement, environmental science research and postgraduate research mentoring. His research work has resulted in more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 21, and he has supervised six PhD scholars, one MPhil scholar and more than 15 Masters’ research students.
Throughout his career, Dr Singh has undertaken significant institutional leadership in accreditation, rankings, governance and quality assurance. As Head of the Division of Rankings and Accreditation, he led institutional processes involving the collection, validation, analysis and reporting of academic and administrative data for accreditation, rankings and quality-related initiatives involving Indian and international higher education agencies and frameworks. His experience includes curriculum and academic program review, preparation of Self-Study Reports, Annual Reports and institutional quality reports, sustainability and SDG reporting, development and review of policies, procedures and standard operating frameworks, and supporting institutional committees and IQAC processes. He has also contributed to evidence-based institutional planning and decision-making through systematic evaluation of institutional data, documentation and quality indicators.
With a strong commitment to academic standards, effective governance and continuous quality improvement, Dr Singh brings an evidence-based, analytical and collaborative approach to higher education quality management. His broad experience across academic leadership, curriculum development, research, accreditation, regulatory compliance, institutional governance and quality assurance provides a strong foundation for his work as Governance and Quality Manager. In this role, he is focused on strengthening institutional quality systems, supporting regulatory readiness and academic excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement that contributes to positive outcomes for students and the institution.
