Dr. Zakria Qadir is an accomplished educator and researcher with expertise in autonomous systems, swarm intelligence, and AI-driven technologies for national security, disaster response, and sustainable development. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Western Sydney University, Australia, and has worked across three continents, contributing to high-impact research at institutions including the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia; Middle East Technical University, Turkey; and the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan.
Dr. Qadir’s research spans distributed drone systems, path planning under constraints, intelligent multi-agent coordination, and energy-efficient UAV missions. He has led and contributed to several government-funded projects focused on AI-based trajectory optimisation, energy-efficient transportation, and resilient smart cities. His work has been recognised with numerous accolades, including a Gold Medal in his undergraduate studies, a Best Journal Paper Award, and inclusion in Stanford’s global Top 2% Scientists list.
With over 40 publications and more than 1,800 citations, Dr. Qadir serves as a reviewer, editor, and conference chair for major venues in AI and engineering. He is a professional member of IEEE, Engineers Australia, and the ACS. He also held a postdoctoral research position at UNSW, where he furthered his contributions to ethical AI and intelligent systems for public safety. Dr. Qadir remains actively engaged in shaping the next generation of engineers and technologists through teaching, mentorship, and international research collaborations.
